Dear Parents and Families,
As we enter the final month of the school year, I want to take a moment to thank you for your continued support and partnership. It’s hard to believe how quickly the year has flown by! Together, we've navigated a year full of growth, learning, and memorable moments.
This last month is filled with important activities, from final projects and assessments to celebrations, and promotion ceremonies. Please keep an eye on school newsletters, emails, and classroom updates so you don’t miss any key dates or events.
We are happy to welcome our parents to Awards Ceremonies held in their child’s classroom for Kindergarten through 4th Grade. Invitation letters will be sent home shortly to indicating your response of attendance. Please return the form to your child’s teacher. Fifth grade classes will split between two ceremonies at the end of May to accommodate families. The ceremonies dates and times are listed in the calendar section below.
There was a slight change to Kinder, 1st grade, and 2nd grade state progress monitoring, FAST. The dates are listed below for all grade levels in the calendar section.
The last two days of school, Monday, June 2nd and Tuesday, June 3rd are Early Dismissal Days with student dismissal at 1:10 PM. Morning Coqui Club will still be open. However, Coqui Club is not available in the afternoon on early dismissal days. Please plan for your child in advance and communicate with the teacher.
We also have our Uniform Donation event kicking off on Friday, May 23rd. Donations of gently used items are appreciated. There will be a uniform donation drop-off in the café and at the bus ramp. The Early Dismissal Days are out of uniform days. The District Dress Code can be used as a guide when selecting outfits and a brief outline is below.
As we approach the end of the school year, we start to plan for the upcoming school year which includes placing students with a teacher. We would like to ask that if you do have a teacher request, that you please write a letter to the Information Specialist, Ms. Gulotta, stating the type of teacher for which your child would respond to best and not an actual teacher name. We ask that you not request a certain teacher by name, as it makes it very difficult to balance classes and keep our class sizes in accordance with state requirements. You may write, for example, “my child works best with a very structured teacher” or “my child needs some freedom of movement and responds best to a very nurturing learning environment”.
We know that the relationships teachers and students make during the school year are critical in the child’s academic development. It is our goal to formulate classroom rosters which provide students and the teachers the best possible learning environment. Thank you in advance for honoring this school procedure for future teacher placement. After visiting each classroom multiple times, I am confident all of our teachers demonstrate excellence with instructional delivery and a true concern for the well-being of our students.
We encourage all students to finish the year strong—staying focused, maintaining good attendance, and demonstrating the Treeline Expectations to Be Respectful, Be Responsible, and Be Safe,. Let’s work together to help them cross the finish line with pride and confidence. Our PBS, Positive Behavior Support Program, will conclude with many opportunities for students to use their hard-earned coqui cash to include:
As we head into summer, I hope your family finds time to relax, recharge, and create special memories together. Whether you’re traveling, exploring locally, or enjoying a good book in the backyard, may your summer be safe, joyful, and filled with fun.
Before we conclude the school year, I look forward to seeing our families at the Awards Ceremony to celebrate the accomplishments of all students.
