Dear Parents and Families,
Happy New Year to our Treeline Families! I hope you had a restful holiday season and are looking forward to kicking off 2025 with our students and families.
It is hard to believe we are halfway through the school year. I am sure the students are excited to be back on campus to share their vacation and fun family memories.
In December, students in grades 3rd, 4th, and 5th took their FAST progress monitoring two. This year the state testing window was in December instead of January. With the earlier testing window coupled with the loss of school days due to the hurricanes, students’ scores are showing slightly lower than previous year. The FAST assesses students on content for the entire school year which means there are concepts which have not been taught yet. Please keep this in mind when viewing your child’s FAST PM2 score in FOCUS.
Students in grades Kindergarten, First, and Second grade will be taking their FAST PM2 assessment for Reading and Math in January.
On January 21st, third grade teachers will share a digital presentation about state requirements for promotion to fourth grade and how parents can help their child at home. This is a particularly important presentation for parents to view. For any questions, please contact your child’s teacher.
Quarter 2 Report Cards will post and be ready to view in FOCUS on the evening of Monday, January 13th.
Our annual Gulf Coast Humane Society Pet Drive kicks off on January 27th. We are thrilled to partner and support the Gulf Coast Human Society again. Each year we collect toys, food and other needs for the dogs and cats at the shelter awaiting a home to call their own.
As we move into the second semester, we will continue to build on the foundation we have set, with an increased focus on data to drive our instruction along with goal setting and reflection. We are excited for the opportunities that lie ahead, including upcoming special events like Student-Led Conferences and the Storybook Parade in February.
I would like to introduce a new member of the Treeline Staff, Casey Harding. Mrs. Harding is joining Treeline as an Assistant Principal and has been with Lee County Schools for 14 years serving as a Teacher, Instructional Coach and Assistant Principal.
We greatly appreciate your continued support and involvement in your child’s education. Together, we can make the second semester even more successful.
